The Mexican Double Loop is a recreation of the true 1800's style of holster used by the working Cowboy of the "Old West." These holsters are designed with a swell in the seam to keep the holster secured to the back flap when drawing the gun. The deep curving swoop on the top sets the gun well into the holster, eliminating the need for any hammer tie.
